UNITED STATES OF AMERICA SMS TEXT MESSAGING ALERT METHOD

On 1 February in 2011, U. S. Embassy Bamako launched a new SMS Sound the alarm System so that American Citizens should be able to receive important signals from the Embassy via text on their cellphones. The TEXT MESSAGE Alert System will not affect the current e-mail-based emergency method, but rather will improve the availability of emergency messages to the people without
immediate access to schooling. This new system sends a text message containing a quick description of urgent warden information and prompt subscribers to check their particular e-mail for more information.

Application in the SMS Alert Method

Enrollment in the TEXT MESSAGE Alert System is optional. So that you can enroll, Ough. S. citizens only need to email the Consular Segment their mobile phone number from acsbamako@state. gov using the subject matter line “Add Me to TEXT MESSAGE. ”

Disenrollment inside the SMS Alert Method

At any time, citizens may decide to leave the SMS Alert Method by sending an e-mail to be able to acsbamako@state. gov with the subject matter line “Remove Me from SMS” with their mobile phone amount.

If citizens enrolled with all the U. S. Charge decide to subscribe to the TEXT MESSAGE alert system, they will always receive warden messages via email-based, if enrolled in the Wise Traveler Enrollment Plan.
